Drugstore Digs

Hello Z-land! Sorry I have been a naughty blogger lately but I do have a quick bit to share today.

I saw this little feature over at Refinery 29 on must have drugstore items by popular bloggers and thought it was interesting. You can click on the link to check it out. I'm definitely a fan of the St. Ives Apricot scrub but my zombie drugstore dig for you guys (even though I am not a popular blogger- ha!) is Revlon Matte Lipstick in the shade of 'Really Red'.

Revlon Matte Lipstick Really Red (2-Pack)
I read that Mad Men's head makeup artist loves this shade and I ran out and bought one. It's such a great Hollywood red. I like it even better than what Mac has to offer! It's definitely my go-to red lipstick. It goes on smooth, has lasting power, works great as a stain and it's my perfect shade! I pair it with Mac's cherry lip pencil. Think you can't wear red?

Think again. There's a shade for everyone. Maybe I'll do 'How to Pick a Red Lipstick' post soon. TGI Thursday everyone!

Midnight In Paris

I saw Midnight In Paris over the weekend and I loved it! I'm a fan of Woody Allen movies but not so much lately. I hate to say it because I'm sure this annoys the crap out of Woody but I like his older movies best. This one though, was definitely in line with his classics. I don't want to over-hype it or anything but thought it was interesting, funny, charming and magical. I love Woody's ability to blend fantasy with the everyday. He takes the surreal, impossible events and makes them believable. The movie was a lot like Alice in that way. Which is one of my favorite Woody Allen movies!

Another thing this film has in common with Alice is that the main character was essentially written as Woody Allen but played by another. Mia Farrow did such an excellent female Woody in Alice and Owen Wilson was so adorable in this role for Midnight In Paris. I was surprised at how well he was able to channel Woody Allen without imitation. It was like watching a sweetened version of Woody. Just look at him, aw.

I definitely recommend this one, especially if you are already a fan of Woody Allen!

Etsy Fav: WhichGoose

WhichGoose's shop just keeps getting better and better! If you or anyone you know is planning a wedding you must check out her amazingly lovely accessories. I'm not even engaged but I'm thinking about buying some of her stuff just to wear to a party or something!

The best part is that she doesn't jack up the prices just because they can be used in a wedding. Everything is around $30 for the most part. Bravo! I love this shop!

Lust for Dress

I bought this dress and these shoes last week. I was sooo excited for the dress but it turned out to not look that great on me. Mainly because I am "blessed" in the bust area, oh well. I thought you zombies might like to see it anyway. I bet it would look fab on one of you. The shoes are awesome btw. I am wearing them right now and as you know I am a pretty huge fan of Seychelles and I can attest to their excellent quality. I can already tell these are going to be my go-to pair of shoes for summer! Feel free to ask me questions about either if I have tempted you into buying them. :P

Butter Me Up!

If you haven't noticed, I have discovered a new nail polish that I am pretty into: Butter London!

Not only do they have fantastic colors but they are also free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP! Better for you and the environment! Yay! You can really tell the difference when you first open the bottle because the smell is way less horrible than most nail polishes. It's true, they cost a pretty penny but they are oh so worth it. I currently only own "Full Monty" but I love it and am scheming to buy more...

Check out these fantastic colors:

They also have just come out with a new matte finish topcoat which I am pretty excited to try. I'm feelin' the matte makeup as of late. I went a little crazy yesterday and bought it along with 'Teddy Girl' and 'All Hail The Queen'. I was worried about picking a color that might not look good with my skin tone but then I discovered that I could buy them on Zappos! Which means free shipping, free returns!

Here's my favorite colors of the moment...I think:

Leave me a comment with your favorite shade! I want the wisdom of the masses. It's so hard to choose.

Love you long time, Mascara!

If you are like me, you have had a really hard time finding a mascara that doesn't suck. It's always too goopy, dries out your eyes, smudges or expires too soon. What a really can't stand is that weird smell most mascaras get when they are too old and I hate how they are only really for the first week and then get clumped up. Yuck!

Well, I have finally found The One! This mascara is the best! It's all natural so it doesn't dry out your eyes, it goes on smooth and it lasts forever! By that I mean, it doesn't get all clumped up or develop a weird smell after a couple of weeks of use. This is the first mascara that I have used to the very end and it is a pretty giant amount!

This is not for perfectionist, glam girls who want that crazy all day lasting coverage that you pretty much need to remove with paint thinner. It's also not like other natural mascaras that I have tried that come off all over your cheek after about 20 minutes and don't do anything for your lashes. I don't know how else to say it this stuff is perfect. It is a hefty price but if you consider that it will not expire in the way that all mascara's do and how much you get it is totally worth it. Plus you can buy a smaller sample size before committing to the full size and they have so many awesome colors!

Now that I have found it, I can't live without it!

Ban On Shopping

Well, it's almost the end of the month and if you have been reading my blog you know what that means... my month-long ban on shopping is almost over! Sadly, all the summer clothes at Anthro went on sale last week and I had to miss out on several pairs of shorts I was plotting to buy. It was painful, but a healthy pain. Now that they are gone, and there's nothing I can do about it, I must admit I feel good. I feel lighter somehow. This must be what Buddhists feel like; they aren't weighed  down by possessions. There is probably a lesson in here for me, but only time will tell if I have learned it. Hopefully, the outcome of this month is that I will have become a more frugal shopper. But anyway, irony aside, let's look at what I am dying to buy when this month is up!

Seychelles is my new obsession. I have four pairs of their shoes and they are all amazing. I am telling you, this brand rules. You can pick these up from Anthro or the Seychelles website. They also have them in yellow. I hope they are comfortable enough to walk around Montreal in. I hate compromising cuteness for comfort, especially while on vacation. But see? I only want one pair of shoes. Buddhism is definitely taking hold. Of course there are other things that I would like-- but I am learning to edit my shopping lists.
