It's Friday I'm In Love!

I like so many other girls have a semi-unhealthy obsession with this movie. What great kiss scene! Happy Friday!

Drugstore Digs

Hello Z-land! Sorry I have been a naughty blogger lately but I do have a quick bit to share today.

I saw this little feature over at Refinery 29 on must have drugstore items by popular bloggers and thought it was interesting. You can click on the link to check it out. I'm definitely a fan of the St. Ives Apricot scrub but my zombie drugstore dig for you guys (even though I am not a popular blogger- ha!) is Revlon Matte Lipstick in the shade of 'Really Red'.

Revlon Matte Lipstick Really Red (2-Pack)
I read that Mad Men's head makeup artist loves this shade and I ran out and bought one. It's such a great Hollywood red. I like it even better than what Mac has to offer! It's definitely my go-to red lipstick. It goes on smooth, has lasting power, works great as a stain and it's my perfect shade! I pair it with Mac's cherry lip pencil. Think you can't wear red?

Think again. There's a shade for everyone. Maybe I'll do 'How to Pick a Red Lipstick' post soon. TGI Thursday everyone!

It's Friday, I'm In Love!

9i7pt.jpg (JPEG Image, 480x301 pixels)

Oh, it's Friday again and I am still not well. I am feeling a bit like this sea monster looking in on the lives of others while I sit on the side lines waiting to be healthy.

I've been trying to make it through the week and also do something creative or productive to keep my will power going. This week I drew a rough draft of  a logo/t-shirt design for a  bike shop that will be opening up soon called 'Surf Monkey'. I'm hoping it goes somewhere but if not it was fun to work on. I also went to a volunteer meeting for a non-profit called San Diego Victory Gardens. They teach people how to grow their own veggie gardens by actually going to their homes and building/designing their garden with them! Isn't that cool? I can't wait to get involved. This weekend I'm going to hang out with my chickens and try to get some exercise and sunshine. I'm also going to try acupuncture for the first time today. Cross your fingers that it works for me!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Girl With 7 Horses

Check out this awesome photo project by Ulrika Kestere. It's based on a fairy tail about a girl's laundry blowing away in a storm and taking with it the girl's 7 invisible horses. I like the photos, very magical. This shoot remind me of an art project I did while I was in school. I made an owl on the ground out of my clothes. If only I had thought to do a photo shoot!

Click here to read the fairy tale and see more horses!

Etsy Fav: FeverFew

I stumbled upon a new Etsy fav this weekend. Fever Few is a little gold mind or precious art items. I love that her inventory is so varied and is always changing. The seller also hails from Montreal (home town of my mother's)! Don't you love her girly, animal-centric style? My favorite are the scarves.

It's Friday I'm In Love!

Pinned Image

It's been a rough week for me because I am still struggling with this sinus infection. Last time I was sick for this long was when I got mono in college and that was much more fun because my best friend had it with me. I'm hoping this weekend will provide me with the kind of rest I need to kick this thing. Hope everyone has a good one!

Flapper Finds!

As I mentioned the other day I'm going to start doing a semi-regular post and flapper style items that I find for sale. Something to bring out the flapper in all of us, you know? It's so fun to mix in little vintage touches to your wardrobe and the 1920's has so much glamour to offer. Plus, I think the styles from this era are coming back in a big way this year. Personally, I have always had an attraction to this era but I never tried to incorporate it into my own wardrobe because the loose fitting and drop waist style clothing does nothing for my figure but- there's more than one way to dress like a flapper! Let's not forget about accessories! So, here's my first flapper post focusing on some flapper accessory finds!

Cloche Hat / Brown Soft Fur

Check out this fur cloche hat. Wouldn't it be lovely with a sheer spring dress or a cropped blazer with high-waist trousers? I think you could wear it well into summer, even pairing it with a silky blouse and some tailored tap shorts.

1930s 40s OXFORDS / Ivory peeptoe leather and mesh, 8

I heart these oxfords. Don't you miss low heels like this? I wish these were in my size I would wear them with just about everything. Remix Vintage Shoes has a close version of them though if you are willing to spend the bucks for your size and choice of color!

Vintage Sunglasses Made in the 1970's But Perfect For a Flapper

Check out these little sunglasses for that touch of flapper. How great would these be with a vintage swim suit? I can see it now!
