Biatch Wore My Dress: The Oscars

I don't have time to do full run down on my best/worst of the Oscars but I just wanted to drop in and show my fellow zombies my favorite dress of the night. You may remember it from a previous post on Monique Lhuillier's Spring 2011. This is totally the dress I would wear if I were and Oscar goer. I am in love with this dress. The same thing happened to me last year when Sandra Bullock showed up in my favorite Marchesa dress minus the best part (i.e. the giant shoulder bow)! Since I am not invited to the Oscars I guess I shouldn't begrudge the stars these amazing gowns... I just can't help but exclaim, "Hey, that's my dress!" every time it happens.

Isn't it glorious? Too bad her hair and make up are so terrible. Were they trying to make her look dull? I did not even recognize her as Mandy Moore. Mandy, if you are out there I hope you fire your stylist. Everyone else just use your scroll bar to look at this picture from the neck down.

Etsy Fav: Thief & Bandit

I have a new favorite Etsy shop! Check out Theif & Bandit for awesome screen prints, barelets, head bands and necklaces. Oo Oo Oo.

I love the patterns and braiding. It makes me think of those awesome, patterned, neon surfer stuff from the 80's that my dad used to wear well into the 90's. Plus check out this fat little baby rocking some pattern pants!

Oh, this makes me laugh! He looks so squishy and cute.

The Unobtainable Orla

I don't know why I even bother to look at Orla Kiley's line. They never sell the really cute stuff on the US website and everything costs like 300 dollars. But oh, to dream... and aren't these fantastic pictures! I love the cactus, dinos and retro beach umbrellas. I love the patterned jumper in the middle. Also the purses as always. Sigh.

African Butterflies!

Dear Zombies,

I am obsessed with this fabric! Where can I get it? I saw this chair on the Anthro website and  ever since I have been dreaming of reupholstering my couch with it...

I have been looking and looking and all I found was this dress made from a duller version of it.

My friend is in Africa, maybe he will magically find it for me there? Hint Hint...

It's Friday I'm In Love!

TGIF everyone. It's supposed to rain all weekend so I will be forced to finish up my projects around the house. C'est la vie.

Jump in the Saddle!

After looking at those Rachel Antonoff + Basss shoes yesterday I stumbled upon some Ked saddle shoes and promptly bought a pair! I like that they have the class of saddle shoes but the comfort Keds.
They are even selling them at Anthro. I bought the tan/white combo but I am hoping the color is less yellow and more muted like it is in the Anthro picture. Yay for practical, cute shoes. Especially because the only practical shoes I have in my closet right now are moccasins booties and some ugly running shoes. Yikes.

Will you go to the prom with me, Rachel Antonoff?

Rachel Antonoff put on yet another awesome showcase for her Fall 2011 line. This time she created a vintage prom environment in which to showcase her clothes. I think she took a cue for Sophia Coppala but I love it just the same. No one's prom is ever as cool as it is in the movies, it must have been great to make her own- complete with awesome clothes and The Like onstage.

I borrowed these photos from ERIN JEEN. because I was not lucky enough to go myself. More pictures are available on her site.

I love the tights the models are wearing plus, the saddle shoes! The shoes are (btw) now available at Free People. I hope Rachel does a Twin Peaks presentation next with even more saddle shoes!

Girl Crush: Alia Shawkat

I've been watching a lot of Arrested Development as of late, so funny. Has anyone noticed that Maeby (aka Alia Shawkat) transformed into a total bade since then? She has some sick style as well. She hangs around with designer Rachel Antonoff so how could she not? Check her out:

Here she is with said designer reenacting the best scene from the movie "Teen Witch". ...Or should I say the only good scene?

Be Mine

I found this sassy valentine and it made me laugh out loud. I would give it to my boyfriend but all the records are mine and we both know it. hahahaah

But hey, there's probably still time for you to buy/make this in time to be a smartass this V-day!

I've Died and Gone to BHLN

Some of you may not have heard yet but Anthropologie is coming out with a wedding boutique! It is called Beholden or BHLN and it opens on V-day. I always knew this day would come but I hoped that it would come after I was already married. Now I am screwed because I am unwed and I will probably go insane and broke when the time comes all because of BHLN. I can already tell that I am going to want EVERYTHING they sell. Which by the way will be not only wedding dresses but party dresses and bridesmaid dresses and cute decorations and accessories and shoes!

This is an image I borrowed from 2 Sisters Blog which was put together from the teaser Anthro sent out via email a few weeks ago but now they've gone and released some actual shots of the wedding dresses! Are you ready for a sneak peek?

You can see more of them over at Glamour which is going to have a sneak peek of the party dresses tomorrow. Amazing. My favorite is the one with the big black bow. What's yours?

Tats

I am extremly picky about tatoos. I usually don't really care for them but I really love this one. Simple, imaginative and cute. Here are some other ones I liked:

Blacklight ink! Isn't that rad? I wonder if you can see it when there is no blacklight? Either way I think the Chesire Cat is the perfect thing to get done in this kind of ink. If you want to see more tatoos, I found all of these on Fuck Yeah, Tattoos!

Greetings Zombies!

Here's a little slice of American pie for you all. EmersonMade! I just love this little clothing brand. Emerson really gets it. Check out the awesome old skool jeans she sells! No stretch- high waist-straight leg and bells! All made in the USA.

I am also in love the simple little jackets...

Yay for EmersonMade!

A Clog Come True

Hello, shoe revival. Maybe you have already seen Swedish Hasbeens Spring/Summer 2011 shoes? They are fantastic. I want them all but I can barely fit all my shoes in my closet now... what's a girl to do?

I am going to try not to buy more than one. I do already own a pair of clogs but I definitely need theses in my life:

I can finally replace my beloved vintage Hush Puppies! I wore them to death and now here they are- reincarnate! You may remember how desperate I got when they became unwearable nearly a year ago (or probably way before that but I kept wearing them anyway) and I actually thought about making my own shoes! Yeah, before I realized that I just do not have room to add anymore hobbies to my long list.
