It's Tuesday, I'm In Trouble

It's one of those weeks where the weekend flew by and I considered doing a post yesterday titled, "It's Monday, I'm In Hell". Hopefully, you are in a better mental state than I to survive the week and luckily I have a little something to help you out. Check out this sweet art by the awesome street artist Liquen. 'Liquen' means lichen in Spanish by the way... which I think is a clever name for a street artist.

It's Friday I'm In Love!

TGIF. I'm going to have a giant Mexican breakfast tomorrow morning, drink some mimosas and then play some frisbee golf. I'm also going to enjoy some primo seats at the Dogers/Padres game and try to finish building my chicken coop in between. Here's hoping for a never ending weekend!

Miu Miu

I saw an Hailee Steinfield in a new Miu Miu ad. I am very jealous. 14 and rockin Miu Miu... I'm glad they didn't try hide her age though. They seemed to embrace it. In one of the pictures she's eating pizza! So cute.

How gorg is the Fall collection? I wish I could afford these sparkly shoes... not to mention everything else. On a more critical note, the hair for the runway show was poorly done. Flat, greasy, uneven victory rolls? C'mmon now. Also, some of the looks freak me out because the tops are so big and boxy. I am in agreeance with reviving 1940's shoulder pads but these ones are way too exaggerated. It made the models look like cartoon bodyguards.

It's Friday I'm In Love!

It's Friday again and I can't wait to start my weekend. My plans are to rage on the chicken coop that I have been building. I want to get it as close to done as possible. I am dying to have my own chickens. You just can't buy  eggs that taste that good anymore. Isn't this picture cute btw? Have a great weekend everyone!

Vintage Halloween Costumes Part II

I have another round of Halloween costume ideas made up of vintage finds! (Here's Part I in case you missed it). I realize I am leaving out the guys on these posts but I'm thinking I will have to do a separate post for them. Also, pretty much all of these costumes would be great drag. Jus' sayin...

Remember the Barbie of your girlhood? Bright blue eye shadow, pink vests, giant plastic earrings, big hair? 1980's Barbie was the coolest and she makes the best Halloween costume also. All you need is some over the top, brightly colored 80's clothes, some classic Barbie heels, some cheesy 80's jewelry, a blonde wig and of course the right makeup. Go for bright blue eye shadow and light pink lips. If you want to have even more fun, get a pair of nude tights to wear under your outfit. Then when someone asks you what you are supposed to be, you can lift you skirt up and declare, "I'm Barbie!"

Who wants to be a Greek Goddess when you can be a hideous gorgon and wear snakes in your hair? That's right, I am talking about Medusa! All you need is a Grecian dress (it doesn't even have to be white), some Greek sandals and then you can have fun doing some ugly makeup and figuring out how to put snakes in your hair. The image I included above is a little too pretty for my taste but I thought it was clever the way they did her hair. You could also try making a snake head dress. The best thing about a Medusa costume is you can be as ugly or as sexy as you want.

If you've got the know-how to do some killer vintage hair and the sass to go with it you may want to go as Lucille Ball! All you need is a vintage dress from the 50's (preferably with some kind of  big collar), the shoes to match, some pearls and those Lucy lips (the secret is lip liner).

What could be more fun on Halloween than the bride of Beetlejuice? All you need is the ugliest red, 80's prom dress you can find (preferably with a high collar, long sleeves and lace), a red veil and some awesome Lydia hair

Another excellent option is to go as your favorite Clue character. Mine happens to be Mrs. Peacock. You will need a classy blue dress, a fur stole, an elaborate matching hat, some rhinestone jewels, and maybe a  brooch to give people a hint. I would also suggest making an effort with your hair and you should carry your murder weapon of choice: noose, revolver, candlestick, dagger, led pipe or ratchet. Then you will be all set to spend your night accusing the other party guests of murder!

Alice + Olivia Spring 2012

I'm liking Alice + Olivia's Spring 2012 collection. It's kind of a strange mix of influences from different decades. 60's meets 90's with a dash of 20's? Still there are some fun looks and I love the color pallet!

It's a little bit all over the place but I love the 20's style dresses and the bell bottoms with cropped jackets and the bubble gum 60's looks. I wasn't as into the 90's influences but you can see more if you click the link.

Ultimate Babe: Harrison Ford

It's about time for another hunk. This one might be the greatest hunk of all. Who doesn't have a crush on Harrison Ford. It's true he's like 80 years old now but daaaang he was hot. Who else could pull off being Han and Indy? He's even sexy as an Amish man.

valenciamay:

love of my life.

agreed.

So cute. My fav Ford movies are Start Wars (duh), Blade Runner, Witness, The Fugitive, and Indiana Jones.
